Shift History

Key Points

  • Shift History shows a complete log of changes made to a shift.

  • It is accessed directly from the shift modal.

  • Only existing (already created) shifts have a shift history.

  • The history log shows:

    • When a change was made

    • Who made the change

    • What action occurred

    • A description of the update

  • Shift History supports auditing, accountability, and troubleshooting.

Accessing Shift History

Step 1 – Open a Shift

Navigate to the roster and click on an existing shift.

Example:

  • Open Alana’s shift on the 24th.

Step 2 – Click the History Button

Inside the shift modal, locate the History button in the bottom right-hand corner.

Note: The History button only appears on shifts that have already been created.

Clicking this opens the Shift History screen.

Understanding the Shift History Screen

Once opened, the shift history screen provides several tools to help you review changes.

Sorting and Navigation

You can:

  • Sort entries by date and time

  • Navigate between pages

  • Adjust how many history entries are shown per page

These options help when reviewing shifts with a large number of updates.

Reviewing Shift Changes

The history table displays:

  • Date and time of each action

  • User who made the change

  • Action type

  • Description explaining what was updated

Common actions you may see include:

  • Adding a shift to a repeating series

  • Updating shift details

  • Modifying a bypass reason

  • Changing the client

  • Swapping staff assigned to the shift

Each entry gives clear visibility into exactly what changed.

Why Shift History Is Important

Shift History helps you to:

  • Audit changes made to rostered shifts

  • Resolve discrepancies or questions about shift updates

  • Track accountability across staff and administrators

  • Maintain accurate and transparent rostering records

This is especially useful in busy rostering environments where multiple users may be updating shifts.
